59 Preface وَتِلكَ عادٌ ۖ جَحَدوا بِآياتِ رَبِّهِم وَعَصَوا رُسُلَهُ وَاتَّبَعوا أَمرَ كُلِّ جَبّارٍ عَنيدٍYusuf AliSuch were the ‘Ād People: they rejected the Signs of their Lord and Cherisher; disobeyed His messengers; And followed the command of every powerful, obstinate Transgressor.1Instead of following the beneficent Lord who cherished them, they followed ever)' rebel against God’s Law, if he only obtained a little power to dazzle them, (Cf. 14:15).
