70 Preface لَقَد أَخَذنا ميثاقَ بَني إِسرائيلَ وَأَرسَلنا إِلَيهِم رُسُلًا ۖ كُلَّما جاءَهُم رَسولٌ بِما لا تَهوىٰ أَنفُسُهُم فَريقًا كَذَّبوا وَفَريقًا يَقتُلونَYusuf AliWe took the covenant of the Children of Israel and sent them messengers, every time, there came to them a messenger with what they themselves desired not - some (of these) they called impostors, and some they (go so far as to) slay.1Cf. 2:87, and n. 91.
