33 Preface وَاللَّيلِ إِذ أَدبَرَYusuf AliAnd by the Night1 as it retreateth,(2) The Night when it is illuminated by the Moon is light in a sense, but it is really dark and must give place to (3) the Dawn when it comes, as the harbinger of the Sun. So in spiritual matters, when every soul realises its own responsibility, it will look less and less to reflected lights, and through the beauty of a dawn-like awakening, will be prepared more and more for the splendour of the light of God Himself, the goal of the Heaven of our dreams.
