61قالَ لَهُم موسىٰ وَيلَكُم لا تَفتَروا عَلَى اللَّهِ كَذِبًا فَيُسحِتَكُم بِعَذابٍ ۖ وَقَد خابَ مَنِ افتَرىٰMuhammad AsadSaid Moses to them: "Woe unto you! Do not invent lies against God,1 lest He afflict you with most grievous suffering: for He who contrives [such] a lie is already undone!"I.e., by deliberately denying the truth of His messages.
