7لَو ما تَأتينا بِالمَلائِكَةِ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ الصّادِقينَMuhammad AsadWhy dost thou not bring before us angels, if thou art a man of truth?"1Cf. 6:8-9. The reference of the unbelievers to the Prophet's revelation is obviously sarcastic (Zamakhshari); hence my interpolation of the word "allegedly". Although these verses relate primarily to the pagan contemporaries of the Prophet, they broadly describe the negative attitude of unbelievers of all times.
