72قالَت يا وَيلَتىٰ أَأَلِدُ وَأَنا عَجوزٌ وَهٰذا بَعلي شَيخًا ۖ إِنَّ هٰذا لَشَيءٌ عَجيبٌMuhammad AsadSaid she: "Oh, woe is me!1 Shall I bear a child, now that I am an old woman and this husband of mine is an old man? Verily, that would be a strange thing indeed!"This expression of grief obviously relates to her past barrenness as well as to her fear that this astonishing announcement might prove illusory.
