Sura 99
Aya 8
8
وَمَن يَعمَل مِثقالَ ذَرَّةٍ شَرًّا يَرَهُ

Ali Unal

And whoever does an atom’s weight of evil will see it.1
  • Whatever a person does is not unnoticed by God, and He records whatever people do. Both in this world and in the Hereafter, everyone will see and receive the consequences of their deeds. This is the basic principle of belief in God’s justice and the Hereafter. The believers will receive most of the reward of their (religiously) good deeds in the Hereafter, though God does not leave them unrewarded, even in this world. But the unbelievers will receive the rewards of their good deeds only in this world; and the recompense for their evil deeds will generally be postponed to the Hereafter, even though they may sometimes suffer for some of their deeds in this world. In the Hereafter, every person will be shown all of his or her deeds, down to the smallest ones. However, as God overlooks and forgives many of people’s evils in the world, except unbelief and the association of partners with Him, He will also forgive some evils of His believing servants in the Hereafter.
