38 Preface كُلُّ نَفسٍ بِما كَسَبَت رَهينَةٌYusuf AliEvery soul will be (held) in pledge for its deeds.1Cf. 52:21. Man cannot shift his responsibility to vicarious saviours or saints. His redemption depends upon the grace of God, for which he should constantly and wholeheartedly strive by means of right conduct. If he does so he will be redeemed and he will join the Companions of the Right Hand.
