47وَالسَّماءَ بَنَيناها بِأَيدٍ وَإِنّا لَموسِعونَAli UnalAnd the heaven,1 We have constructed it mightily; and it is surely We Who have vast power, and keep expanding it.2After the accounts of some past, exemplary events, this verse is a continuation of verse 22.The expansion of the universe, of which the Qur’ān informed us centuries ago, is the most imposing discovery of modern science. Today it is a firmly established concept and the only debate centers around the way in which this is taking place.
