29 Preface ثُمَّ ليَقضوا تَفَثَهُم وَليوفوا نُذورَهُم وَليَطَّوَّفوا بِالبَيتِ العَتيقِYusuf Ali“Then let them complete the rites prescribed1 for them, perform their vows,2 and (again) circumambulate the Ancient House.” Tafath- the superfluous growth on one’s body, such as nails, hair, etc., which is not permitted to remove in Iḥrām. These may be removed on the 10th day, when the Ḥajj is completed: that is the rite of completion.The spirit of Pilgrimage is not completed by the performance of the outward rites. The Pilgrim should carry in mind some vow or spiritual service and endeavour to perform it. Then comes the final Tawaf.
