(VII) Thus Moses looked for something for his people to drink, and We said: "Strike the rock with your staff!"; so twelve springs gushed forth from it. Each group of people knew its drinking spot: "Eat and drink from God’s provisions, and do not cause any havoc on earth, as if you were mischief- makers."
