110 Preface حَتّىٰ إِذَا استَيأَسَ الرُّسُلُ وَظَنّوا أَنَّهُم قَد كُذِبوا جاءَهُم نَصرُنا فَنُجِّيَ مَن نَشاءُ ۖ وَلا يُرَدُّ بَأسُنا عَنِ القَومِ المُجرِمينَAli Quli QaraiWhen the apostles lost hope1 and they thought that they had been told lies,2 Our help came to them, and We delivered whomever We wished, and Our punishment will not be averted from the guilty lot. That is, when the apostles lost hopes of bringing their people to the right path.That is, the people to whom the apostles had been sent thought that the apostles had been told lies concerning the impending punishment of the infidels.
