The Quran

۞ أَلَم تَرَ إِلَى الَّذينَ نافَقوا يَقولونَ لِإِخوانِهِمُ الَّذينَ كَفَروا مِن أَهلِ الكِتابِ لَئِن أُخرِجتُم لَنَخرُجَنَّ مَعَكُم وَلا نُطيعُ فيكُم أَحَدًا أَبَدًا وَإِن قوتِلتُم لَنَنصُرَنَّكُم وَاللَّهُ يَشهَدُ إِنَّهُم لَكاذِبونَ

Uzunoglu et al.

“Have you not seen the hypocrites?” They say to their fellow disbelievers among the People of the Book: “If you are driven out, we shall go out with you, and we shall never obey anyone against you, and if you are attacked we shall help you.” And Allah bears witness that they are lying.¹

Reference is to ʿAbd-Allāh ibn Ubay, the chief hypocrite and to his correspondence with the Nāḍirite Jews.
