26 Preface وَلَقَد أَرسَلنا نوحًا وَإِبراهيمَ وَجَعَلنا في ذُرِّيَّتِهِمَا النُّبُوَّةَ وَالكِتابَ ۖ فَمِنهُم مُهتَدٍ ۖ وَكَثيرٌ مِنهُم فاسِقونَYusuf AliAnd We sent Noah and Abraham, and established in their line Prophethood and Revelation: and some of them1 were on right guidance. But many of them became rebellious transgressors.Some of them: i.e., of their line, or posterity, or Ummah. When the Book that was given to them became corrupted, many of them followed their own fancies and became transgressors.
