88وَتَرَى الجِبالَ تَحسَبُها جامِدَةً وَهِيَ تَمُرُّ مَرَّ السَّحابِ ۚ صُنعَ اللَّهِ الَّذي أَتقَنَ كُلَّ شَيءٍ ۚ إِنَّهُ خَبيرٌ بِما تَفعَلونَMuhammad AsadAnd thou wilt see the mountains, which [now] thou deemest so firm, pass away as clouds pass away: a work of God, who has ordered all things to perfection!1 Verily, He is fully aware of all that you do!I.e., in perfect consonance with the purpose for which He has created them: which is the approximate meaning of the verb atqana, In this particular instance, stress is laid on the God-willed transitory nature of the world as we know it (cf. 14:48 and 20:105-107, and the corresponding notes) in contrast with the lasting reality of the life to come.
