117 Preface فَقُلنا يا آدَمُ إِنَّ هٰذا عَدُوٌّ لَكَ وَلِزَوجِكَ فَلا يُخرِجَنَّكُما مِنَ الجَنَّةِ فَتَشقىٰYusuf AliThen We said: “O Adam! verily, this is an enemy to thee and thy wife: so let him not get you both out of the Garden, so that thou art landed in misery.1See last note. The story is referred to, in order to draw attention to man’s folly in rushing into the arms of Evil, through he had been clearly forewarned.
