17 Preface يَتَجَرَّعُهُ وَلا يَكادُ يُسيغُهُ وَيَأتيهِ المَوتُ مِن كُلِّ مَكانٍ وَما هُوَ بِمَيِّتٍ ۖ وَمِن وَرائِهِ عَذابٌ غَليظٌYusuf AliIn gulps will he sip it, but never will he be near swallowing it down his throat: death will come to him from every quarter, yet will he not die: and in front of him will be a chastisement unrelenting.1A graphic and deterrent picture, from the preaching of the earlier Prophets, of unrelieved horror of the torments of Hell. The door of escape by annihilation is also closed to them (Cf. 2:126 and 31:24).
