32قالوا يا نوحُ قَد جادَلتَنا فَأَكثَرتَ جِدالَنا فَأتِنا بِما تَعِدُنا إِن كُنتَ مِنَ الصّادِقينَMuhammad Asad[But the great ones] said: "O Noah! Thou hast contended with us in argument, and hast [needlessly] prolonged our controversy:1 bring upon us, therefore, that with which thou dost threaten us,2 if thou art a man of truth!"Sc., "without convincing us" (as is brought out fully in 71:5-6).
