53ذٰلِكَ بِأَنَّ اللَّهَ لَم يَكُ مُغَيِّرًا نِعمَةً أَنعَمَها عَلىٰ قَومٍ حَتّىٰ يُغَيِّروا ما بِأَنفُسِهِم ۙ وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ سَميعٌ عَليمٌMuhammad AsadThis, because God would never change1 the blessings with which He has graced a people unless they change their inner selves :2 and [know] that God is all-hearing, all-seeing.I.e., withdraw.For an explanation of the wide implications of this statement in the context of the law of cause and effect which God has decreed on His creation (and which is described elsewhere in the Qur'an as sunnat Allah.
