31فَلا صَدَّقَ وَلا صَلّىٰMuhammad Asad[Useless, though, will be his repentance:1] for [as long as he was alive] he did not accept the truth, nor did he pray [for enlightenment],This interpolation, necessary for a full understanding of the sequence, is based on 4:17-18, which has a definite bearing on the above passage.
