O believers! When believing women emigrate to you, test them. Allah best knows their faith. If you find them believers, do not return them to the disbelievers; they are not lawful to the disbelievers, nor are the disbelievers lawful to them. But hand back to the disbelievers what they have spent. Nor is it an offense for you to marry such women, provided you give them their dowries. Do .not hold onto the ties of marriage with disbelieving women; demand what you have spent and let them ask for what they have spent. Such is the judgment of Allah. He judges between you. Allah is Wise and Knowing.
