42وَلَقَد أَرسَلنا إِلىٰ أُمَمٍ مِن قَبلِكَ فَأَخَذناهُم بِالبَأساءِ وَالضَّرّاءِ لَعَلَّهُم يَتَضَرَّعونَM. M. PickthallWe have sent already unto peoples that were before thee, and We visited them with tribulation and adversity, in order that they might grow humble.
