He that does not have [a slave] shall fast two successive months before they touch one another. If he cannot do this, he will feed sixty of the poor. This [is enjoined on you] so that you may believe in Allah and His Messenger. Such are the limits set by Allah. And Allah’s painful torment awaits the disbelievers.
