17 Preface وَإِذا بُشِّرَ أَحَدُهُم بِما ضَرَبَ لِلرَّحمٰنِ مَثَلًا ظَلَّ وَجهُهُ مُسوَدًّا وَهُوَ كَظيمٌAli Quli QaraiWhen one of them is brought the news of what he ascribes to the All-beneficent, his face becomes darkened1 and he chokes with suppressed agony, [and says] That is, when he is brought the news of the birth of a daughter.
