51 Preface ۞ وَما كانَ لِبَشَرٍ أَن يُكَلِّمَهُ اللَّهُ إِلّا وَحيًا أَو مِن وَراءِ حِجابٍ أَو يُرسِلَ رَسولًا فَيوحِيَ بِإِذنِهِ ما يَشاءُ ۚ إِنَّهُ عَلِيٌّ حَكيمٌAli Quli QaraiIt is not [possible] for any human that Allah should speak to him1 except through revelation or from behind a curtain,2 or send a messenger3 who reveals by His permission whatever He wishes. Indeed He is all-exalted, all-wise. Or ‘it does not behoove any human that Allah should speak to him.’As from a tree, as in the case of Moses (ʿa).That is, an angel.
