11 Preface فاطِرُ السَّماواتِ وَالأَرضِ ۚ جَعَلَ لَكُم مِن أَنفُسِكُم أَزواجًا وَمِنَ الأَنعامِ أَزواجًا ۖ يَذرَؤُكُم فيهِ ۚ لَيسَ كَمِثلِهِ شَيءٌ ۖ وَهُوَ السَّميعُ البَصيرُAli Quli QaraiThe originator of the heavens and the earth, He made for you mates from your own selves, and mates of the cattle, by which means He multiplies you. Nothing is like Him,1 and He is the All-hearing, the All-seeing. In case the kāf in ka-mithlihī is not taken as redundant, the meaning will be, ‘There is nothing like His likeness.’
