120يَعِدُهُم وَيُمَنّيهِم ۖ وَما يَعِدُهُمُ الشَّيطانُ إِلّا غُرورًاMuhammad Asadhe holds out promises to them, and fills them with vain desires: yet whatever Satan promises them is but meant to delude the mind.1The term ghurur signifies anything by which the mind is beguiled or deceived - for instance, utter self-abandonment to earthly joys, or the absurd belief that there is no limit to man's aims and achievements.
