86قُل ما أَسأَلُكُم عَلَيهِ مِن أَجرٍ وَما أَنا مِنَ المُتَكَلِّفينَMuhammad AsadSAY [O Prophet]: "No reward whatever do I ask of you for this [message]; and I am not one of those who claim to be what they are not.1The expression mutakallif denotes, primarily, "a person who takes too much upon himself", be it in action or in feeling; hence, a person who pretends to be more than he really is, or to feel what he does not really feel, In this instance, it indicates the Prophet's disclaimer of any "supernatural" status.
