8إِنّا جَعَلنا في أَعناقِهِم أَغلالًا فَهِيَ إِلَى الأَذقانِ فَهُم مُقمَحونَAli UnalWe have surely put chains around the necks (of the unbelievers among your people), right up to their chins, so that their heads are forced up.1This is an allegory that alludes to people being purposefully prejudiced and too haughty to believe. It also signifies that they never think about their selves, their being, or their physical composition, that which would enable them to come to recognize God’s signs in them and believe.
