42وَأَقسَموا بِاللَّهِ جَهدَ أَيمانِهِم لَئِن جاءَهُم نَذيرٌ لَيَكونُنَّ أَهدىٰ مِن إِحدَى الأُمَمِ ۖ فَلَمّا جاءَهُم نَذيرٌ ما زادَهُم إِلّا نُفورًاN. J. DawoodThey solemnly swore by God that if a prophet should come to warn them, they would accept his guidance more readily than did the other nations. Yet when someone did come to warn them, they turned away from him with greater aversion,
