3وَلَقَد فَتَنَّا الَّذينَ مِن قَبلِهِم ۖ فَلَيَعلَمَنَّ اللَّهُ الَّذينَ صَدَقوا وَلَيَعلَمَنَّ الكاذِبينَA. J. ArberryWe certainly tried those that were before them, and assuredly God knows those who speak truly, and assuredly He knows the liars.
