48 Preface وَكانَ فِي المَدينَةِ تِسعَةُ رَهطٍ يُفسِدونَ فِي الأَرضِ وَلا يُصلِحونَAli Quli QaraiThere were nine persons1 in the city who caused corruption in the land, and did not bring about any reform. Or ‘nine families’ (or gangs).
