66فَجَعَلناها نَكالًا لِما بَينَ يَدَيها وَما خَلفَها وَمَوعِظَةً لِلمُتَّقينَMuhammad Asadand set them up as a warning example for their time and for all times to come, as well as an admonition to all who are conscious of God.1For the full story of the Sabbath-breakers, and the metaphorical allusion to "apes", see 7:163-166.
