43 Preface وَأَقيمُوا الصَّلاةَ وَآتُوا الزَّكاةَ وَاركَعوا مَعَ الرّاكِعينَYusuf AliAnd be steadfast in prayer; practise regular charity; and bow down your heads1 with those who bow down (in worship).The argument is still primarily addressed co the Jews, but is of universal application, as in all the teachings of the Qur-ān. The chief feature of Jewish worship was and is the bowing of the head.
