29هُوَ الَّذي خَلَقَ لَكُم ما فِي الأَرضِ جَميعًا ثُمَّ استَوىٰ إِلَى السَّماءِ فَسَوّاهُنَّ سَبعَ سَماواتٍ ۚ وَهُوَ بِكُلِّ شَيءٍ عَليمٌJ. M. RodwellHe it is who created for you all that is on Earth, then proceeded to the Heaven, and into seven1 Heavens did He fashion it: and He knoweth all things.The number of the Heavens is borrowed from the Talmud, or traditions based upon it; but the idea probably has its root in the Scriptural expression, "Heaven of Heavens."
