155 Preface وَلَنَبلُوَنَّكُم بِشَيءٍ مِنَ الخَوفِ وَالجوعِ وَنَقصٍ مِنَ الأَموالِ وَالأَنفُسِ وَالثَّمَراتِ ۗ وَبَشِّرِ الصّابِرينَYusuf AliBe sure we shall test you with something of fear and hunger, some loss in goods or lives or the fruits (of your toil), but give glad tidings1 to those who patiently persevere,The glad tidings are the blessings of God in 2:157 or (which is the same thing) the promise in 2:153 that God will be with them.
