29 Preface فَأَشارَت إِلَيهِ ۖ قالوا كَيفَ نُكَلِّمُ مَن كانَ فِي المَهدِ صَبِيًّاAhmed AliBut she pointed towards him. “How can we talk to one,” they said, “who is only an infant in the cradle?”1 Idiomatically a mere boy who has not shed his milk teeth. So would Jesus have appeared to the elders of Israel, although he had already become a prophet as the next verse affirms. See note on verse 16 above.
