21انظُر كَيفَ فَضَّلنا بَعضَهُم عَلىٰ بَعضٍ ۚ وَلَلآخِرَةُ أَكبَرُ دَرَجاتٍ وَأَكبَرُ تَفضيلًاMuhammad AsadBehold how We bestow [on earth] more bounty on some of them than on others: but [remember that] the life to come will be far higher in degree and far greater in merit and bounty.1Lit., "greater in degrees and greater in the bestowal of bounty (tafdilan )" - but since the latter term obviously comprises, in this instance, the concept of "merit" as well, a composite rendering would seem to be indicated.
