41 Preface قالَ هٰذا صِراطٌ عَلَيَّ مُستَقيمٌAli Quli QaraiHe said, ‘This is the path [leading] straight to Me.1 Read alternatively as hādhā ṣirāṭun ʿalīyyun mustaqīm, meaning ‘this is an exalted straight path.’ This reading is narrated from al-Imam al-Ṣādiq (Majmaʿ al-Bayān) and from thirteen other authorities, among them Yaʿqūb, al-Ḍaḥḥāk, Mujāhid, Qatādah, and Ibn Sīrīn.
