Preface

وَالَّذينَ آتَيناهُمُ الكِتابَ يَفرَحونَ بِما أُنزِلَ إِلَيكَ ۖ وَمِنَ الأَحزابِ مَن يُنكِرُ بَعضَهُ ۚ قُل إِنَّما أُمِرتُ أَن أَعبُدَ اللَّهَ وَلا أُشرِكَ بِهِ ۚ إِلَيهِ أَدعو وَإِلَيهِ مَآبِ

Ali Quli Qarai

Those whom We have given the Book¹ rejoice in what has been sent down to you. Among the factions² are those who deny a part of it. Say, ‘Indeed I have been commanded to worship Allah and not to ascribe any partner to Him. To Him do I summon [all mankind] and to Him will be my return.’

That is, the Jews and the Christians, or the faithful who followed the Prophet (ṣ).
That is, from among those belonging to Jewish and Christian sects, or the Arab polytheists.
