160مَن جاءَ بِالحَسَنَةِ فَلَهُ عَشرُ أَمثالِها ۖ وَمَن جاءَ بِالسَّيِّئَةِ فَلا يُجزىٰ إِلّا مِثلَها وَهُم لا يُظلَمونَMuhammad AsadWhoever shall come [before God] with a good deed will gain ten times the like thereof; but whoever shall come with an evil deed will be requited with no more than the like thereof; and none shall be wronged.1Lit., "and they shall not be wronged". See in this connection the statement that God "has willed upon Himself the law of grace and mercy", occurring in verse 12 of this surah, and the corresponding note 10.
