117 Preface إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعلَمُ مَن يَضِلُّ عَن سَبيلِهِ ۖ وَهُوَ أَعلَمُ بِالمُهتَدينَAhmed AliYour Lord surely knows those who have strayed from his path, and knows those who are rightly guided.1 Verses 112-117 centre round falsification of belief and the law of the Qur’an. The true believers uphold the Qur’an wholly and completely. The hypocrites and false believers only profess belief in it, but spread frivolous stories, lahv-al-hadith (31:6) and make the Qur’an mahjura, ineffectual by shackling it (25:30) with laws derived from fabricated traditions, customs, hearsay, and their won, man-made laws which are held more sacrosanct, thus imposing their own concept of morality on it.
