This day, lawful to you are good things, and the food of those who have been given the book is lawful for you and your food is lawful for them, and the chaste from the believing women and the chaste from those who have been given the book before you (are lawful to you for marriage), when you give them their dowries, being chaste, not fornicators, and not for taking them as girl friends; and one who rejects belief, then indeed this deeds are fruitless and in the hereafter he will be among he losers.” (R 1)
