The Jews and the Christians say, “We are sons of Allah and His loved ones.” Say, “Then why does He punish you for your sins? No ! you are but human beings from among those whom He created. He protectively forgives whom He wills and He punishes whom He wills. And the kingdom of the skies and the earth and (all) that is between them is Allah’s and towards Him is the (final) destination.”
