29قُل إِن تُخفوا ما في صُدورِكُم أَو تُبدوهُ يَعلَمهُ اللَّهُ ۗ وَيَعلَمُ ما فِي السَّماواتِ وَما فِي الأَرضِ ۗ وَاللَّهُ عَلىٰ كُلِّ شَيءٍ قَديرٌMuhammad AsadSay: "Whether you conceal what is in your hearts1 or bring it into the open, God knows it: for He knows all that is in the heavens and all that is on earth; and God has the power to will anything."Lit., "breasts", This is a reference to the real motives underlying the decision of a Muslim group or power to form an alliance with "those who deny the truth" in preference to, or against the legitimate interests of, other believers.
