98وَكَم أَهلَكنا قَبلَهُم مِن قَرنٍ هَل تُحِسُّ مِنهُم مِن أَحَدٍ أَو تَسمَعُ لَهُم رِكزًاMuhammad Asadfor, how many a generation1 have We destroyed before their time - [and] canst thou perceive any one of them [now], or hear any whisper of them?I.e., civilization - a meaning which the term qarn has also in the identical phrase in verse 74.
