27 Preface وَيَقولُ الَّذينَ كَفَروا لَولا أُنزِلَ عَلَيهِ آيَةٌ مِن رَبِّهِ ۗ قُل إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُضِلُّ مَن يَشاءُ وَيَهدي إِلَيهِ مَن أَنابَYusuf AliThe Unbelievers say: “Why is not a sign sent down to him from his Lord?”1 Say: “Truly God leaveth, to stray, whom He will; But He guideth to Himself those who turn to Him in penitence,-The question is repeated from 13:7 above: for the line of reasoning there suggested in answer is now completed, and another line of reasoning is now taken up. God provides every guidance for those who turn to Him in penitence, but He will leave those to wander astray who deliberately close their eyes and their hearts to His grace and the comfort that comes from remembering Him and celebrating His praises.
